Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Art across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and innovative lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and foster students' creativity, artistic expression, and appreciation for diverse art forms.
  • Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, experimentation, and the development of artistic skills and techniques.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and artistic abilities.
  • Utilizing a range of art materials, resources, and techniques to deliver a rich and varied curriculum, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the Art department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's vibrant arts culture through exhibitions and displays.

    A creative and dynamic secondary school in the diverse borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Art Teacher to join their thriving Art department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025., A degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Art curriculum.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for art and design.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
