About Us

Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2023 our Progress 8 score was + 1.41 - one of the highest in the country. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils' life chances and last year, over half of students went to a UK Top 40 university including Oxbridge and top courses such as Medicine. In September 2020, Wembley High welcomed pupils from North Brent School in Year 7 while their new £27 million building is completed. The addition of a new school in our Multi-Academy Trust provides exciting development and leadership opportunities for staff in the years to come.

The Art Department

AT Wembley High there is a large Art department which consists of six teachers who teach across 4 disciplines: Design Technology (including Food Technology), Photography, Fine Art and Art Craft and Design. Students can choose to study all subjects at GCSE level with the exception of Design Technology. Design Technology is taught at KS3 and the national curriculum is covered by thoughtfully designed projects that explore architecture, product design and lighting design. Additionally, all Y8 students complete a 6 week food technology project centered around healthy living.

At Wembley High Technology College, we want to deliver a world class Art and DT curriculum that goes above and beyond and helps our students develop into confident, independent, and creative individuals who contribute positively. Our students are enthusiastic learners who thrive when challenged and love exploring different artworks and mediums. Our current technician is leaving the department after 15 years and we are seeking an individual who is hard-working, dedicated and can contribute to the smooth running of our successful department.
