Full Job Description

Looking for a rewarding career? Look no further than The King's School in Grantham!

Due to the recent expansion of our Art Department, we have an opportunity for an Art Technician to assist on a part-time basis.

Our forward-looking, prestigious school is seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our innovative team. With an illustrious history dating back to 1528, The King's School has been a cornerstone of the Grantham community for centuries.

We are looking to appoint a Technician for our busy Art Department to start as soon as possible. The post holder will support the Art Department by ensuring classrooms, materials and equipment are cleaned, prepared, maintained and made available to students, thereby assisting teachers in providing engaging and safe lessons.

If you are unsure what The King's School is like but are considering applying, please contact the school for an informal telephone conversation or a visit to the Art Department to find out more.

Additional hours as a Midday Supervisor are also available to a suitable candidate.

To apply, please complete our application form via the 'Quick apply' button.

Closing date: 9am on Friday 6 December 2024.

Whilst a closing date for applications has been set, we reserve the right to interview and appoint a suitable candidate prior. This being the case, we would encourage early applications for the post.

Please note that feedback will only be provided to candidates whose applications progress to the interview stage.

The King's School is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be expected to follow school safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of students.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers. As this post is considered a 'regulated activity', a check through the Disclosure and Barring Service, including the children's barred list, will be made. Shortlisted candidates should be aware that the school may conduct online searches as part of our due diligence process. Successful applicants must be familiar with and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of students.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules; see https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dbs-filtering-guidance) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
