Arts Coordinator

The Arts Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the award-winning arts programme at NUH, known as Arts at NUH. The programme aims to support the wellbeing of patients, staff and visitors across our hospitals through visual arts enhancements, exhibitions, activities and performances.

The post-holder will work with both internal and external stakeholders and partners to deliver a high quality and varied programme that supports patients and staff. They will be expected to represent NUH within the National Arts in Hospitals Network and lead on prospective projects at a national level.

Arts at NUH is currently funded by Nottingham Hospitals Charity, until September 2026 with potential for it to be extended to 2027. Part of the role will involve securing funding and managing budgets and resources associated with the project. In addition, the post holder will work closely with the Communications and Engagement team to develop a formal strategy for the next phase of the programme.

Main duties of the job

The person in this role will have a love of the arts and a background of working with various forms of the arts. With a diverse staff workforce and patients from all background, a key part of this role is understanding how arts can become accessible and meaningful for all.

Through the medium of art, we are looking for someone to support the improvement of wellbeing across our hospitals, through exhibitions, activities and performances, involving patients, staff and the local community. The programme should be research-based, representing the staff and patient voice.Behind the scenes, the person in this role will be organised and able to manage multiple projects, budgets and contacts in order to ensure the swift and planned delivery of the project.As the key professional in this are, you will be expected to offer advice to colleagues across the Trust to support them in delivering effective arts.

This role sits in the Communications and Engagement Team at NUH, but engages with staff from across the Trust. You would be expected to support colleagues from all areas of the Trust and work closely with colleagues to support patient wellbeing in our hospitals

As a member of the communications team, you will have access to a wide range of communication tools and professionals who can help to amplify the story of Arts at NUH.

In addition, working closely with external partners to source funding and gain additional arts support is vital this this role.
