This post will be located in Goldsmiths' Research and Knowledge Exchange Department(RKE). The Department delivers the University's Research and Knowledge ExchangeStrategy. The Pro-Warden for Research and Knowledge Exchange provides academicleadership of this area and the Department is under the strategic management of theDirector of Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange who reports to the Pro-Warden.The Department as a whole supports: the development of research and knowledgeexchange bids; post award management (including statutory reporting); the University'scompliance with codes of conduct, ethics and other regulatory requirements; businessenterprise and knowledge exchange, IP and spin outs; the University's REF submission;and civic and public engagement.Department of Educational StudiesThe Department of Educational Studies is one of Goldsmiths' largest departments, with atrack record in impactful research and a range of thriving programmes, from primary andsecondary Initial Teacher Education to postgraduate, undergraduate and doctoralprogrammes.The Department has a unique and interdisciplinary focus on issues of identity and socialjustice; learning for multilingual and multicultural communities in disadvantaged urbancontexts; the arts and learning including visual art education, drama education andchildren's literature in education.In addition, it has a strong involvement in 'School Direct' Initial Teacher Education (ITE),working with primary and secondary schools, as well as four thriving School Centred InitialTeacher Training (SCITT) partnerships., The programme achieved remarkable milestones in its first year alone, delivering 63 onlineand in-person module sessions and engaging 863 teachers from 636 schools across England.These sessions, centring around the newly developed learning programme, equip schools withthe framework and tools to design impactful action research and assess its outcomes.Participant feedback has highlighted significant boosts in confidence, particularly in dataanalysis and evidence-based practice, with 87% of schools attending their booked sessions.The programme's support offer includes monthly drop-in sessions, live and recorded additionallearning opportunities, and the Goldsmiths Artsmark Teacher Environment (GATE). Thisonline collaborative space has already attracted 183 members. This dynamic communityfosters peer support and professional growth, amplifying the programme's impact.Prof Tara Page (Department of Educational Studies) is seconded as Artsmark Project Lead forthe duration of the contract, overseeing the project's strategic direction and working closelywith the Senior Project Officer (this role) and the Artsmark team at Arts Council England.Prof Page, to whom the role-holder will have a dotted line of reporting and supported by ateaching team of Goldsmiths academic staff, will deliver the modules of the learningprogramme. Administrative support is provided by the Research and Knowledge Exchangedepartment, including a dedicated Artsmark Senior Project Officer (this role) and ArtsmarkProject Officer/s (held by two post holders @ 0.5 FTE), forming the Artsmark Project Team.This role is an opportunity to be at the forefront of a transformative national learningprogramme, shaping the future of arts education and making a tangible difference to teachersand schools nationwide. - Advocacy for Artsmark Award and and supporting ACE with the recruitment of schools to register
- Delivery of Development training sessions for newly registered schools.
- Delivery of training and support sessions for writing key Artsmark documents: Statement of Commitment and Statement of Impact,
- Provide support for schools at crucial moments through their Artsmark journey including for example: self-assessment, evaluation frameworks and evidencing impact, developing partnerships, supporting pupil voice
- Resource development
- Sign-posting schools to cultural partners, LCEPs, and other schools to encourage partnership and peer support
- Advice giving to support schools with their understanding of the Artsmark process, offer signposting and respond to questions and queries regarding the award
- Reporting and monitoring We are looking for a highly skilled project individual to support the Artsmark Project Lead inthe delivery of this complex but exciting project. The Senior Project Officer is an excitingrole which will be instrumental in shaping the future of arts and cultural education in schoolsettings across England. As a project-specific team, you will work independently to supportthe project, but will be able to draw on experienced colleagues in the wider team asrequired.The Artsmark project team is responsible for:
- Points of contact for schools, the ACE Artsmark team, and other relevant stakeholders
- Coordinating the recruitment and training of trainers, and national deployment
- Overseeing the development of online training, resources, and materials
- Overseeing the delivery of schools training and Development Days
- Connecting with local cultural infrastructure and engaging cultural stakeholders with Artsmark
- Project Administration
- Monitoring and reporting
- Managing complaints Alongside the core delivery of Artsmark training, Goldsmiths researchers will conduct astrand of complementary research activity around local arts and cultural education acrossEngland. This activity will be supported by colleagues in the wider RKE department.Mode of workPart of this role's responsibilities will be to coordinate activity taking place across England.While activity will be a mix of online and in-person, we expect the role-holder to have totravel frequently as part of their day-to-day. As such, we expect this role to be a mix of inperson,remote or hybrid working. We encourage applications from suitable candidatesoutside of London, and you will not be required to work in London if this is the case (exceptfor induction and other infrequent ad-hoc requirements to be in person).Main duties:1. To oversee the day-to-day management and administration of the Artsmark training provision, including the overall responsibilities and the specific responsibilities of the Artsmark Project Team listed above, 3. To work closely with the Artsmark Project Lead to shape the successful delivery of the project, including support with monitoring the project's budget4. To keep the Knowledge Exchange Manager (and other relevant colleagues) abreast of the project's progress, and escalate issues as required to ensure their timely resolution5. To monitor the project's Key Performance Indicators and ensure progress remains on track to achieve these.6. To work with relevant departments across Goldsmiths (such as Communications, IT, Data Protection, Finance, HR, etc.) to ensure the smooth running of the project7. To support the recruitment and management of the Artsmark Trainer Pool8. To coordinate contracts and payments for staff engaged in delivering the project9. To oversee the delivery of in-person and virtual events organised as part of the project10. To build and sustain strong and positive working relationships with external stakeholders, particularly Arts Council England, schools and school settings across England, and cultural/education partners across England11. To oversee the creation of relevant publicity, including case studies12. To undertake any other tasks that may reasonably be required from time to time.,
