Full Job Description

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective service with excellent standards of customer care and referral processes within the ASD Team, CAMHS. The post holder must be adept at problem-solving techniques and possess exceptional decision-making abilities. The post holder will also be responsible for maintaining accurate data of the service activity and support the clinical work of the ASD Team service via administration systems and processes. The role will involve liaison with children, young people, their families and members of the public via the telephone and face to face. We're really proud of our #PennineCarePeople and do everything we can to make sure we're a great place to work., To provide a full ASD secretarial service to the ASD Team which includes typing letters, psychiatric reports, non-clinical correspondence, audio typing, prioritising own workload, the use of email, send faxes and attend to photocopying as and when required.

  • To proactively manage the appointment diary ensuring that all appointments are filled, and practitioners' time is fully utilised, flagging gaps in the diary to the ASD Team Lead to ensure all appointments are allocated.
  • To manage families' expectations around waiting times and signpost to relevant support services whilst they await assessment.
  • To communicate via the phone with distressed and challenging service users and their families to arrange/amend appointments, and to provide families with an up to-date status as to progress on the ASDAT pathway.
  • To communicate via the phone with schools and other professional agencies regarding referrals to the ASDAT pathway, to advise the correct referral process, and to document reports of escalating behavioural issues, sharing these appropriately with the ASD Team Lead. To request additional information from schools to support the ASD assessment as necessary.

  • The vacant post is to provide a high-quality secretarial service to the ASD Team and to the service as a whole ensuring that the highest standards are maintained in line with the Trust's policies and procedures. · The successful candidate is required to have extensive knowledge of the NHS core business systems and processes. · The successful candidate would need to have good organisational skills and have the ability to manage the extensive workloads and to meet pre-determined deadlines. · The successful candidate would be required to have the ability to work bothas part of a busy team and on their own initiative.
