Full Job Description

As an Assembler at Caterpillar you will operate as part of the production team responsible for the assembly of parts or components to produce Building Construction Product (BCP) machines, according to specified work orders. As a Line Runner, you work on several stations covering planned/unplanned absences. You will utilise lean manufacturing tools and techniques while operating to defined "tact times" and production sequences.,

  • Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect free assembly of parts and components, using various hand/power tools and lifting equipment provided in the work area
  • Work on several stations to support planned and unplanned absences
  • Train/coach Assembly Technician's/Apprentices to standard work instructions Operate BCP built machines where required
  • Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work
  • Participate in product / process improvement dialogues as required Cover the Team Leader's role in their absence
  • Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM) Adhere to the company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices
  • Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, Sustainability
  • Undertake training and further learning as required

    Experience demonstrating three stations within CWL 90 line
  • Demonstrable high level of assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracy
  • Have a fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities (willing to work overtime)
  • Thorough working knowledge of the area and build experience of the workstations within which you will be working
  • The ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment
  • The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures
  • Attention to detail, able to work with own initiative and self-motivated
  • You will possess effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organization
  • Willing to undertake required training/learning
  • Must be willing to work a multi-shift pattern
