Full Job Description

  • Organisation of team, equipment, paperwork and general area, prioritising workload at all times to meet customer requirements detailed in the planning spreadsheet.

  • Communicate messages from the management team positively to the team to promote an inclusive can-do mentality.

  • Active participation in mandatory and appropriate developmental leadership and/or skills training courses.

  • Handle personnel activities in relation to team members on a daily basis in accordance with company policy and procedure i.e. attendance (timekeeping including breaks, absence management, holiday, medical appointments etc.), inductions, work groups and overtime management etc

  • Handling of personnel issues relating to performance management and team conflicts using 1:1s, workgroups, coaching performance/behaviours, PDR’s and seeking management support when appropriate.

  • Ensure that all activities carried out in the department comply with all H&S requirements.

  • Utilise the skills matrix to identify gaps in training and work to complete required SSWs and Tool Box Talks.

  • Apply a culture of continuous improvement in conjunction with the Assembly Manager to work towards directly improving department KPIs.

  • Ensure quality standards are met at all times and work to improve where necessary.

  • Lead and effectively supervise the team to maintain a high level of housekeeping within the Assembly areas including undertaking housekeeping checks daily and highlighting any issues accordingly.

  • Work with the Assembly Management team to actively support and encourage company and departmental initiatives.

  • Demonstrate, promote and encourage the Company Values and relevant behaviours.

    Ability to lead, engage and inspire team to perform at their best and achieve departmental and company objectives.

  • Confidence and ability to manage day to day personnel activities including performance management and coaching conversations, remaining open in communication with Assembly Manager.

  • Ability to work with the Management team to achieve departmental and company objectives.

  • Ability to identify and drive positive change in self, individuals, teams and processes.

  • Understanding of the Business requirements to manage performance.

  • Strong H&S and general housekeeping awareness and knowledge.

  • Willingness to undertake any relevant leadership training sessions.

  • Computer literate and able to use the company system (IFS) or similar MRP systems.

  • Excellent communication skills.
