Full Job Description

With new and exciting client mandates, our high performing Asset Based Lending team are looking for an NQ or an Associate to join our expanding practice.
You will act for a number of FTSE 100 and local clients supporting a variety of asset-based lending work.
Based in either Leeds or Manchester this role will form part of our national team of experts working with clients across the UK and Internationally; you will have an opportunity to work alongside a range of partners and team members spread across AG's offices.
To ensure transaction delivery, client relationship development and the continued expansion of the team and practice.

You are a qualified Solicitor NQ - 4 PQE, however, no specialist ABL or Trade Finance knowledge is required. Experience in any Receivables or Structured Finance, General Banking and Finance and/or Restructuring is advantageous.
A real and genuine interest in this area and be keen to grow that knowledge in a proactive way.
Adept at in building and nurturing strong client relationships, as well as with internal stakeholders.
A keen intellect and a commercial mindset. Ability to demonstrate the provision of pragmatic and tailored advice in a way that supports internal and external clients alike.
The ability to actively support complex transactions, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed.
Be inquisitive and want to understand our clients, their drivers, and what matters to them, so that your advice has quality, imagination, and impact.

Our market leading Asset Based Lending team is one of the largest dedicated ABL teams in the UK, being one of only two Tier 1 practices in the UK. The team is led by Mike Davison, 2 Partners, 7 fee earners with an additional trainee and paralegal across our offices in London, Leeds, and Manchester.
Recognised in Legal 500 as one of the leading ABL teams in the UK, our ABL practice covers all types of receivables financing and asset based lending transactions, including syndicated facilities, sponsor-backed deals, cross-border transactions and off-balance sheet receivables purchase programmes, supply chain and trade financing transactions.
Our client base is second-to-none, comprising UK clearing banks, US and European financial institutions, challenger banks, funds and independent ABL's.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE ROLE:
You can expect to have the opportunity to play a significant role in working for clients that are key to the Group and to the firm. As part of this you may have the opportunity to undertake client secondments to assist our clients and to build your skills and expertise further.
The opportunity to work in one of the leading teams in a specialist market. A mix of Lender and borrower work.
This will be a client facing role and extensive support and training as part of an established team at one of the leading firms in the region.
The team is very collaborative, and the role is to work cross office with the team members drawn throughout the firm for well-known clients on high profile deals.
Involvement in the formulation of new marketing strategies and materials.
Strongly encouraged to take responsibility for business development both engaging directly with client contacts at networking events and by providing training.
