The Asset Finance Relationship Director role is based within Commercial Banking Equipment Finance. HSBC Equipment Finance (HEF) is one of the UK's leading asset finance businesses providing structured lending to UK relationships and potential switcher targets, across all CMB segments, to support the funding of their capital expenditure (such as heavy commercial vehicles, trailers, coaches, construction plant and machinery amongst others) and/or the refinancing of existing assets. This is a senior product specialist role providing asset finance solutions to sophisticated customers in the MME, Large Corporate and Global markets. The job holder will represent the HEF proposition within defined segments/regions within HSBC Commercial Banking in the UK. Responsible for the delivery of the HEF revenue growth objective within defined areas working as part of the local HSBC Relationship management team. The role holder will:

  • Maximise revenue by identifying customer needs first and then recommending appropriate asset finance solutions for the customer to consider and accept.
  • Meet with customers alongside Relationship Directors where business turnover is substantial in size and there is an identified need for capex funding.
  • Support customers and place their needs at the forefront of all that we do, setting world class standards and ensuring demonstrating fair customer treatment and delivery of customer satisfaction.
  • Seek new opportunities and nurturing existing relationships to identify new business opportunities.
  • Global Standards - Manage regulatory and reputational risk, ensure business adherence throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk.

    A proven ability of identifying and meeting customer needs is essential.
  • Significant experience in the asset finance industry or with similar lending products is essential.
  • Experience of working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Corporate Banking/Business Banking, Financial Services is a must.
  • Proven experience of leading delivery of an excellent customer service, proactively identifying innovative ways to improve the service delivered.
  • Hold advanced technical product knowledge, sales/ negotiation skills and the ability to structure large, often technical and complex structured asset finance transactions.
  • Able to provide advice and guidance to less experienced members of the Equipment Finance sales force.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management in the asset finance market and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage business tasks, gathering and analysing comprehensive information and/or customer requirements.
  • Excellent influencing skills and ability to builds positive working relationships with our customers, colleagues, and stakeholder.
  • Able to plan and organise effectively to ensure targets and deadlines are met.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including the ability to manipulate complex data within Excel.
  • This is a hybrid role with coverage required in the North West region, so the successful candidate will be required to hold a full driving licence and be expected to travel on a regular basis as well as be office based as part of their working week. The base location of the HSBC Corporate office is Manchester.
