Full Job Description

Reporting to the Financial Accounting Team Leader, you will be a part of the Financial Accounting team providing reporting, analysis and statutory reporting for the UK based businesses, holding companies and European subsidiaries.,

  • Bank reconciliations.

  • Payroll processing and preparation, along with other payroll related costs for 3x EU based entities (max 30 employees in each).

  • Month end processes - Payroll control account reconciliations and Payroll related Accruals & Prepayments.

  • Headcount reporting and maintaining data to assist with budget and forecast.

  • VAT related tasks for the respective entities.

  • Assist with annual Audit requirements for respective entities.

  • Take charge of your personal development and contribute to the evaluation of performance in line with Routeco's core competencies and learning and development framework.

  • Observe Health & Safety policy and procedures.

    We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including intermediate excel and the ability to interact with internal and external associates with ease., AAT level 4 (required)

  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role (payroll and accounting)


  • A considered approach to problem solving is an important role requirement.

  • An ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and motivation is necessary.

  • Being well organised and reliable will be important factors in being successful in this role.

  • A thorough detailed and disciplined style is vital with the ability to evaluate logical and detailed data.

  • Adaptability to new challenges and changes.

  • Good standard of education, GCSE English and Maths particularly A-C grade (or equivalent).

  • Flexibility to working hours at peak time such as payroll or month end.
