An opportunity has arisen at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust for two dedicated individuals to join our Financial Services team as Assistant Accountant - Accountancy. Were looking for individuals who are reliable and flexible, and who demonstrate commitment to achieving both their own and the Trusts goals, whilst fully contributing to the team spirit.

The successful applicants will provide support to the Accountancy function in the effective provision of Financial Services for the Trust and subsidiary companies.

The position will be office based with the potential for some working from home and offers the benefits of flexible working.

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of the team the successful candidate will be expected to:

Ensure control accounts are accurately reconciled covering both debtor and creditor accounts.

Resolve queries from both internal departments and external organisations relating to the Statement of Financial Position.

Support in the provision of the Lease Car service of the Trust.

Provide support in the completion of the annual accounts.

Build relationships with Payroll, Finance Management, Procurement and across the organisation.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels and good organisational skills with a real commitment to excellent service delivery. You must be capable of working to tight deadlines whilst ensuring consistency and accuracy, able to prioritise workloads, and be able to work on your own initiative as well as under supervision.
