Assistant Accountant

You will work alongside the Accountant in the production of spreadsheets and statistical data to support the management team, and as an aid to business decisions. Your regular tasks will include:

• Sales ledger credit control
• Checking monthly BACS run and setting up intercompany collections
• Cashflow
• Daily banking
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with monthly forecasts and estimates
• Accruals and prepayments
You will also perform ad-hoc work to support the Accountant.

The ideal candidate will have accounting experience and will be part or fully qualified in an accounting qualification (for example AAT). We are looking for either an already experienced Assistant Accountant or someone who is looking to take the next step up. A working knowledge of the Kerridge accounting system would be ideal but not essential, as well as previous Motor Trade experience. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with all financial and non-financial colleagues, clients and customers.,
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages
• Good organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills.
