Assistant Accountant - IMMEDIATE START

Applications from candidates with only industry experience will NOT be considered. Please only apply if you have a practice background with at least 1 years' experience. The successful candidate should be able to prepare VAT returns, bank reconciliations and process payroll. Training will be provided to prepare accounts and tax returns.

The main responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:

- Prepare VAT returns

- Prepare bank, cash, purchase and sales ledger reconciliations

- Prepare and process payroll

- Dealing with matters relating to company secretarial work (appropriate training will be provided)

- Client liaison via email, face to face and over the telephone

- Deal with HMRC compliance checks

AAT part qualified, with intention to progressing to full qualification. Fully qualified AAT will also be considered.

- Organised and methodical with strong numerical abilities

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, excel and Outlook

- Experienced in electronic bookkeeping

- Ability to work with minimal supervision

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
