Full Job Description

  • Receiving requisitions and demands, negotiating with suppliers, and processing Purchase Orders and Purchase Order amendments in accordance with Procurement processes and procedures, and the requirements of the business

  • Obtaining and communicating progress updates from suppliers in an effective manner, and understanding when to escalate issues to more senior members of staff

  • Maintaining Supplier open order books and ensuring that correct and current data is maintained in the Oracle ERP system

  • Processing supplier returns, ensuring these are actioned in a timely manner

  • Supporting other members of the Procurement Team as required in their daily responsibilities, As an Assistant Buyer/Buyer for the Indirect Procurement Team you will be responsible for supporting the placement of low value Purchase Orders, and the maintenance of these Orders in accordance with Procurement procedures and processes. You will interface with suppliers, internal project teams and functions to ensure the timely receipt of material to meet the requirements of the business.

    Previous administrator/coordinator experience

  • Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

  • Effective communicator and able to manage stakeholder relationships

  • GCSEs (A-C - 5-9) in Maths and English


  • Desirable:
  • Manufacturing background

  • HNC/HND in Business Studies or equivalent experience

  • Proven experience in procurement or similar commercial environment

    Salary: £23,000 - £28,000 depending on skills and experience, You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
