We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Climate Change Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the delivery of our climate change program. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can transform their passion for tackling climate change into practical action that engages all council services and leads residents and partners to do the same. If you are committed to making a positive impact on our planet and have a keen interest in climate action, this opportunity is for you! What will you be doing? Collaborate with internal team and external partners to deliver a range of climate change projects. Assist in the development of and delivery of the council's climate change strategy and action plan. Analyse data and contribute to evidence-based decision making. Keep up to date with climate change trends, policies, and best practice.

  • Assist in the development of communication materials related to climate change projects.
  • Assist in keeping the council's climate change web pages, digital platform 'Let's Talk Wealden and intranet pages up to date. Support social media campaigns and, webinars and public awareness initiatives. Support the development of climate change project funding bids.

    Educated to degree level in relevant environmental discipline or equivalent transferable skills and experience. Experience of working on projects. Excellent communication skills. Experience of partnership working with a broad range of organisations.
