Full Job Description

The Resettling Communities team is responsible for the delivery of humanitarian resettlement programmes such as UK Resettlement Scheme, Homes for Ukraine, and the Hong Kong British Nationals (Overseas) Programme. As a Senior Resettling Communities Officer, you will make a difference by managing and co-ordinating the development of packages to aid this diverse range of projects. You will also adopt a community focused approach to ensure those receiving our support are empowered within our local community. What will you be doing?

  • Daily, you will develop and manage support systems for local delivery of national resettlement programmes, ensuring targets are met and accurate records maintained.
  • Following a community-based approach, you will lead forums and arrange events (such as refugee festivals) to help develop community life across South Gloucestershire.
  • You will coordinate complex resettlement solutions, providing clear guidance to resettlement staff, commissioned services, and other relevant agencies.
  • Regularly, you will report on progress of various resettlement schemes, making sure we continue to deliver a high level of support to displaced communities.

    It is essential that you hold (or be working towards) a degree level qualification in a relevant subject, such as Project Management, Business Finance, Public Health, Social Work or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge in a similar environment.
  • You will have knowledge of relevant resettlement programmes and relevant statutory and legal framework such as (asset-based community development).
  • It is essential for you to have experience preparing and presenting reports and able to interpret and analyse complex data.
