Assistant Designer

The role of Assistant Designer sits in our remarkable Design team where you will be responsible for supporting the creation and development process of the seasonal design ranges to deliver against the Concept brief.

Day-to-day as an Assistant Designer:

• Responsible for supporting the creation and development process of the seasonal design ranges to balance creative and commercial needs and deliver against the Concept brief


• Provide design solutions to support the designer


• Passionate about product and can clearly interpret the Joules brand identity


• Excellent trend prediction and can translate into contemporary relevance for the Joules brand .


• Understands colour and colour usage in line with the Brand


• Customer led mindset supported by store visits , competitive shops and inspirational shopping


• Understanding of commercial acumen, customer and market positioning


• Responsible for ensuring the Centric system is inputted to accurately and on time


• Developing relationships with concept , buying , tech ,suppliers and merchandising counterparts


• Understands overarching design strategy and department strategy and their accountability in achieving it


• Is developing a good understanding of garment manufacture , fit and fabrics


• Demonstrates understanding of own product area including supply base ,lead time and customer

• BA Degree in Design or equivalent


• Proficient in Illustrator / Photoshop/ Centric and design packages


• Collaborates with the print and concept team as one strong team .
