Full Job Description

Your role will be to provide HR Due Diligence expertise to businesses across industry sectors. You will deliver services ranging across exit readiness, vendor due diligence, acquiror due diligence, and post-signing deep-dive reviews. Specific responsibilities for the Assistant Director include:

  • Providing businesses with both buy- and sell-side transaction HR due diligence
  • Assisting these businesses in understanding the financial implications of HR issues, feeding into Quality of Earnings and Net Debt adjustments
  • Working with these businesses in the assessment and review of future HR operational plans, the impact and complexities of carve-outs on vendor and target organisations and the stand-alone HR costs and issues for potential of buyouts and corporate divestments
  • Working with colleagues from Transaction Services (Financial Due Diligence), Financial Advisory, Consulting, Tax & Legal and the broader Deloitte network, to provide our clients with end-to-end deal services with a coherent overview of the HR issues.
  • Working with colleagues from Deloitte member firms globally to provide our clients with an holistic view of the local HR considerations in relevant countries
  • Managing the development and completion of the engagement scope and completion of client deliverables
  • Leading the day-to-day delivery on engagements, reporting into the team of Directors and Partners
  • Supporting management of client relationships and in most cases being a key client contact on engagements
  • Supporting the development of service offerings, tools and templates, and evolving propositions to drive practice growth
  • Supporting training and developing team members in role
  • Leading diverse teams of Managers and Assistant Managers within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
  • Participating in grade-appropriate training to further your personal development

    Experience of working in the M&A / deal lifecycle, specifically due diligence experience
  • Excellent financial analysis skills
  • Strong problem solving, business diagnostic and analytical skills including excellent Excel capabilities
  • A strong understanding of the components of employee costs including salary increases, bonuses, share plans, pensions, benefits
  • Experience of analysing and understanding financial statements particularly relating to employee costs
  • Good organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • A strong academic track record including excellent degree and A-level (or equivalent) results
  • Experience of operating with senior level stakeholders in the corporate and/or private equity industry
  • Ability to fluently communicate and present in both oral and written English
  • Strong commercial acumen and project management capability with a track record of successful delivery
  • Desirable:
  • Experience from working in a related professional services role
  • Experience in business development, from opportunity identification to conversion into sales
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring or counselling colleagues
