Full Job Description

You will be managing pursuit activities and working together with other PCoE pursuit professionals to provide strategic and operational leadership on Deloitte's largest and most strategic M&A pursuits. Responsibilities include the oversight and facilitation of pursuit activities before a deal (Pre-RFP) and throughout the pursuit lifecycle. You will manage the logistics of the proposal, bring together subject matter experts from across the firm, and ensure that all resources are appropriately utilised and coordinated for the creation of the proposal content, and that the clients requirements are met in an effective and timely manner.

You will report to the Pursuit Director within the PCoE., The PCoE Pursuit Lead role will have responsibility to:

  • Develop a pursuit plan, establish key milestones and deliverables, and monitor assignments through the establishment of a pursuit working site using e.g. Microsoft Teams, etc.

  • Manage M&A pursuits to strengthen pursuit capability across the pursuit activities before a deal and work with teams to increase the win rate

  • Bring the client perspective to the opportunity by challenging content/messaging/approaches to ensure our solution and proposition deliver on client expectations with high quality.

  • Bring innovative approaches for presentations, pursuit materials, and other pursuit activities to support strategy, messaging, and differentiation.

  • Provide oversight and quality review for proposal and presentation documents, design approach, risk reviews, and strategic messaging is represented in all deliverables.

  • Bring best practices from other pursuits and fresh ideas from extended pursuit networks

  • Flag and escalate issues to the Pursuit Director and Lead Engagement Partners.

  • Work in conjunction with the M&A PCoE team to support production of printed and/or multi-media materials.

  • Lead on and manage the existing past experience collation and collection process, working with a designated member of the business and the Credentials Champions across all of Transaction Services

  • Assist and support select learning and development initiatives to build and enhance excellence capabilities across the practice

  • Support internal team initiatives such as creation and improvement of self serve materials, the PCoE intranet, reporting and updating of the firms CRM system

  • Work with our team of offshore graphic designers, bringing them into pursuit teams and being the conduit between them and the business, to ensure creation of winning assets

    We are looking for a pursuit lead who will drive and manage pursuits across the M&A business and be part of the M&A Pursuit Centre of Excellence (PCoE). The individual must have exceptional organisational skills and be confident at building senior relationships quickly. The pursuits are often quick turnaround and a key part of this role will be organising teams getting ready for an orals pitch. You should be a people person, getting your energy from others, with a high level of emotional intelligence. You must be able to adopt a flexible approach., Pursuit and proposal development experience

  • Former client service backgrounds preferred, combined with pursuit management

  • Experience working with, collaborating, and building consensus with stakeholders at executive levels, as well as senior management stakeholders, preferably in a partnership environment

  • Strong project management skills: able to work independently and maintain excellent quality control over the milestones and deliverables

  • Proven ability to address and manage conflict, including having difficult conversations where required

  • Ability to work well under pressure, maintain composure and be flexible, understanding that every pursuit is different and thus needs to be treated as such

  • Highly proactive, self-starter with a confidence to communicate with others in a variety of situations

  • Strong analytical skills and interpersonal relationship skills

  • Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions would be preferable, but not essential
