Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Director of Corporate Governance to work closely with the Director of Corporate Governance to provide expert advice to the Trust on all aspects of corporate governance ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, national and local policy. You will ensure that corporate governance processes are embedded throughout the Trust and operationally manage the corporate governance, legal and risk teams, providing leadership, direction and support in the delivery of their responsibilities and on-going development.,

  • Responsibility for strategic and operational management and leadership to the organisation on major areas of activity including all corporate affairs and corporate governance matters.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Corporate Governance, be the principal source of advice and guidance on corporate governance to the Board of Directors and to the Trust Chair / Chief Executive.
  • Responsible for compiling the business plan, developing strategy for key areas of activity, ensuring implementation and that performance targets, and strategic objectives are met.
  • Lead on all operational aspects of corporate affairs and governance ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, national and local policy and strategy.
  • Take a lead role in ensuring that corporate governance processes are embedded throughout the Trust including the provision of advice and guidance.
  • Provide leadership and management of corporate and legal affairs, Ulysses system and risk teams supporting them in delivery and on-going development.
  • Ensure that the Trust operates in accordance with statutory and regulatory provisions, and that there is appropriate and effective corporate governance operating across the organisation.
  • Support the Director of Corporate Governance in the delivery and development of robust corporate risk management structures and processes.
  • Play a key role with regulators and act as a relationship manager with the Care Quality Commission relating to the Well Led domain.
