Full Job Description

The ADOS reports to and assists the Director of Studies in the delivery of the academic management and leadership for creating a superior student learning experience supporting them in the execution of academic delivery. They are responsible for supporting the DOS to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the academic department to include supporting student progress, the planning and organisation of teachers, classrooms and resources together with ensuring that teacher development drives great academic learning in a student centric environment. They are also responsible for working with the DOS and CD to ensure the academic processes and procedures provide best practice in relation to accrediting bodies.,

  • Assist and deputise for the Director of Studies in all areas related to academic department

  • Support students in their English language progression ensuring that students are progressing through EC levels in the anticipated time

  • Carry out administrative duties to ensure the academic department is efficiently run

  • Assist in the recruitment, management and development of the academic team and foster a positive team environment

  • Ensure that the recordkeeping as required by the company, governmental, licensing regulatory bodies and any applicable sponsoring agencies are maintained at all times

  • Ensure that the service provided by the academic department exceeds students' expectations

  • Assist the Director of Studies in ensuring teaching quality, especially in promoting a positive approach to continuous professional development, sharing and innovation

  • Assist the Director of Studies in achieving the Academic KPI's including NPS targets for the year

  • Teaching hours as assigned by the Director of Studies


  • Applicable in the UK only:

  • To act as the Designated Safeguard Officer for the Centre, providing support to all staff in dealing with protection concerns in the absence of the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

    Bachelor's degree plus CELTA/CertTESOL including observed teaching.

  • Commitment to enrol in a Delta/DipTESOL in the next 12 months.


  • Education Desired:

  • DELTA/DipTESOL

  • Master's in Education


  • Experience Required:

    Experience teaching EFL to adults

    Experience Desired:

    Experience in a similar role and/or experience in teacher training, Adapting leadership style to get the best out of each team member. Recognising the efforts and achievements of direct reports in a personal way and instilling a sense of unity and joint purpose to the team.
