To provide leadership and management of the following portfolio of services:
- Regeneration
- Planning Policy
- Large site strategic delivery
- Development management
- Planning enforcement
- Local Land Charges
- Economic Development To lead the strategic development of key priorities within the assigned portfolio, and support those outside of the assigned portfolios, to ensure strategies and processes support Council-wide goals and to effectively fulfil the statutory requirements relevant to the service areas. As our new Assistant Director, Planning, Regeneration and Economic Growth you will lead the strategic development of key priorities within the assigned portfolio, and support those outside of the assigned portfolios, to ensure strategies and processes support Council-wide goals and to effectively fulfil the statutory requirements relevant to the service areas. You'll play a leading role in the delivery of a unified planning, regeneration and economic development service, leading the teams to ensure high-performing, customer focused services as well as develop and maintain robust partnerships to deliver positive outcomes that help to deliver the Council's objectives. This is a pivotal role and an exciting opportunity to make your mark. You will have extensive leadership experience across a range of cross-cutting disciplines, with a particular interest in planning, regeneration and economic development. You'll have likely worked in a council in the past and you'll understand how to balance external growth with major internal transformation. - Holds relevant qualifications in Town and Country Planning, RICs or Architecture (or equivalent fields) and is a registered professional with ongoing development commitment.
