Full Job Description

The Assistant Divisional Nurse Director/Assistant Divisional Director(ADND / ADD) is a key member of the Divisional senior management and leadership team, responsible for assisting the Divisional Nurse Director (DND) and Clinical Leads with the development and delivery of clinical services and professional standards, and the development of nursing leadership within the Division.

The post holder will work in line with agreed objectives reflecting the targets, quality standards, resource controls and constraints and will contribute to delivering high quality, safe and effective patient services within the Division. In conjunction with the DND, the ADND / ADD is responsible for the management of the Matrons and delegated staff in his/her portfolio.

The ADND / ADD will take forward agreed projects in the division or for the Trust to deliver the Nursing and Divisional strategies and improve service delivery in key areas. To problem solve as appropriate, and develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues.

They will work in conjunction with the Matron teams to ensure the clinical workforce provides safe, effective and high quality patient care, ensuring safe staffing and efficient patient flow through the division.

SOME DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE

· To support the development of, and promote, the Trust's mission, values aims and objectives.

· To contribute to the Division's strategy and operational plan leading on the development of improvement plans for specified services, as part of the annual planning cycle and on an ad-hoc basis as required.

· To play a major role in modernising the operational delivery of services in line with the strategic direction of the Trust and the divisional operating plan, working with clinical teams to embed quality improvement and development work.
