Full Job Description

The Finance team are responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day running of Wave's finances, including the financial control and treasury functions., We are looking for an Assistant Finance Analyst to support our Finance Manager in managing the financial control framework of Wave, including the day-to-day management of the company's bank control accounts, production of monthly budget variance reports and monthly reconciliation of control accounts, and to help us to continue to develop our great and wonderful culture.

The role will suit you if you enjoy transactional finance work but are looking to develop your finance career in the longer term. For the right person the opportunity for funded study of an appropriate finance qualification is available.

WHAT WILL YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?

  • Daily banking activities include bank postings and inputting payments

  • Reconciliation of various control accounts

  • Supporting the Finance Manager with month end processes and the production of monthly management accounts

  • Supporting with the preparation of budget variance reporting and discussions with budget holders

  • Management of internal email imboxes

  • Raising purchase orders and ad hoc sales invoices

    AAT Level 3 qualification

  • Experience of working in a financial environment

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel

  • Experience in using accounting software

  • Very strong attention to detail with a clear focus on thoroughness and accuracy

  • Commitment to deliver to deadlines and the ability to operate autonomously and take initiative

  • Numerate with analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to think around an issue to form their own conclusions

  • Sound organisation with planning skills to deliver results accurately and on time

  • A desire to learn more with the opportunity for further funded study available for the right person
