Full Job Description

As contaminated land specialist you will work on a variety of projects in different sectors including built environment, transport and water. You will cover a range of office and field-based activities, including: Â

  • Literature reviews and writing desk studiesÂ
  • Monitoring and sampling of groundwater and ground gas
  • Supervision of ground investigations
  • Data interpretation and analysis
  • Environmental Impact Assessment land quality, geology and soils technical inputs
  • Inputs into land contamination risk assessment reports (for controlled waters, ground gas and human health) and remediation strategies.
  • Contribution to proposal writing and work winning
  • For candidates with a hydrogeology background there may be an opportunity to work with our water resources groundwater team. Work may include projects supporting public water supply, borehole construction, pump test supervision, construction dewatering, water quality, catchment management and water resources modelling., From the moment you join us, you’ll receive the training you need.     To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience (excluding placements), have a minimum of a bachelor's degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:Â,
  • Engineering geology
  • Hydrogeology
  • Environmental geologyÂ
  • Or a similar subjectÂ
  • In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.,
  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
