Assistant Head of Security

As an integral role within the business, you will support the Head of Security with creating, and executing, the hotel security strategies needed to ensure the hotel is maintained to the highest standards of security, including systems and processes, and that the building, and the persons within it, are always safe and secure.

As part of this role, you will help oversee the ongoing departmental training initiatives related to fire, life, and safety, whilst helping to drive compliance with the IHG Risk Management Calendar.

Having a good investigative ability is a must, as you will need to produce clear and detailed reports along with recommendations. You will help build an inclusive working environment where new ideas are welcome and best practices can be shared.,

• To have held people leadership role in a hotel security department. In a property of a similar size, standard and complexity.


• Working in all aspects of Security, including CCTV, and Person/ Building Protection.


• SIA licence holder and First Aid trained.


• Passionate about delivering great service and have a great understanding of Health and Safety.


• In testing and record keeping for fire, life, and safety systems, taking remedial action on the fire risk assessments, working with contractors on technical services and projects,


• Willing to learn new things and work as part of a wider hotel team.


Technical Skills & Knowledge:

• Knowledge of appropriate hotel systems to support operational processes such as service optimisation tools (Quore/Hotsos/Knowcross) Building Management System, CCTV, HGEM, ProcureWizard and Quinyx


• Has in-depth knowledge of brand safety standards.


• Is up to date with critical issues, security updates, technology and other areas of concern relating to security management.
