Full Job Description
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Headteacher to formulate the aims and objectives of the school and provide strategic leadership, establish policies and manage staff and resources. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the schools SEND provisions and supporting pupils across all year groups. The role will include the development, implementation and monitoring of individual support and learning plans tailored to the needs of each pupil. Knowleswood Primary School is part of Exceed Academies Trust, which currently consists of fourteen academies; ten primary schools, an all-through primary-to-secondary academy, two alternative provision academies (Primary and Secondary), and a specialist setting for children/young people who suffer from social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The Trust has an excellent reputation within Bradford and beyond, and an outstanding track record of supporting staff in developing their careers through specialist training lead by the Exceed Teaching School Hub and our Outstanding SCITT. The successful candidate will:
- Support strategic, curriculum-led financial planning to ensure effective use of budgets and resources.
- Be responsible for supporting and educating children with special educational needs, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
- Have a strong commitment to ensuring excellent pupil progress.
- Be dedicated to sharing responsibilities for raising standards.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
- Knowledge and clear understanding of the statutory framework for education as well as new and innovative developments within education.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN teaching. - Strong knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and relevant legislation.

- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies.
