Full Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Homes Manager to join the established staff team at The Beacon in Grantham. The Beacon is an 11 bed Residential Children's Home that provides full time care and support for young people with disabilities., The Beacon is a Home that prides itself on its therapeutic approach, we respect and value all our young people as individuals and work collaboratively with their wider network to ensure they reach full potential. We are a passionate, dynamic, and supportive team who looks forward to welcoming an Assistant Manager who supports these values and beliefs. The Assistant Homes Manager will work closely with the Homes Manager and deputise in the absence of the Homes Manager. This role directly line manages the senior level of the care officers within the Beacon and promotes the ethos of the home throughout the whole staff team. This is a great opportunity to work within a thriving residential home where the young people who live at the Beacon are the centre of everything we do.

As the Assistant Manager you must have the ability to confidently safeguard and proactively support and lead the on and making safe decisions. This is a vital part of this role. The staff team are committed and dedicated to their roles within the Beacon, and it would be an amazing opportunity for any Assistant Manager joining this team. This is also a great opportunity to join the Management team within regulated services and make a positive contribution to Lincolnshire County Council. You must have management experience and either hold or be willing to work towards the QCF 5 in Leadership and Management. Assistant Homes Managers are required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and this will include a shift pattern to cover the home to ensure that the is a safe level of staff at all times which can include nights, bank holidays and weekends. It is essential that you have experience of managing people in a supervisory role. You will be able to draw from experiences where you have supervised staff, participated in multi-agency working, been responsible for implementing change and meeting whilst also evidencing performance standards. You will be required to assume responsibility for the Home in the absence of the Homes Manager and undertake specific areas of responsibility to support the team and development of the home., In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
