Assistant Leader of Mathematics

We are looking for an outstanding, passionate, and dynamic Assistant Head of Mathematics, with the ability to play key part in raising teaching and learning standards through the quality of their own teaching and by supporting the professional development of colleagues. The responsibilities of the role will be agreed between the successful candidate, the Head of Department and Numeracy Lead, however they will be focussed on identifying key underachieving students and developing plans and strategies to combat pupil weaknesses. We are looking for a candidate with innovative approaches to pedagogy who is committed to developing strong relationships with students and staff members alike.   Due to a series of promotions from within the Mathematics Department at Pencoedtre High School we are looking to employ an Assistant Leader of Learning. The department is organised with a Head of Department, and an Assistant Leader of Learning, and there is also a Numeracy coordinator.
