Full Job Description

We are looking for pro-active Assistant Librarian to join our library team.

The RHS Libraries are situated in Wisley, London and Harlow Carr and provide access to a collection of over 100,000 items, with many rare and precious materials including archives, manuscripts, rare books, photographs and art collections.

The RHS Library collection is widely regarded as the finest collection of horticultural literature in the world and has been awarded Designated Status by Arts Council England, signifying its national and international importance.

Our Assistant Librarian (Collections) will support the Collection Development Librarian in managing the library's collections, ensuring they meet the needs of current and future users.

This role is based at the Lindley Library in the Royal Horticultural Society headquarters in Vincent Square, London.

To work for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is to join a thriving charity, whose mission is to be there for everyone on their lifelong adventure with gardening. Everything we do is built on the transformational power of gardening - and the benefits it brings to people, places and our planet.

And we couldn't do this without our people. We're proud of the knowledge, enthusiasm and ideas that each one of our team members brings. From working across our social media channels, to volunteering in the RHS Gardens, from serving customers in our garden centres to running national marketing campaigns, we believe that every member of the RHS team should have the opportunity to make a difference.
