As one of the UK's leading funeral providers, our finance team plays a pivotal role in ensuring that we continue to serve families with the highest standards while driving strategic growth and efficiency.

We are now seeking a talented and driven Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team, where you will contribute directly to our financial planning, reporting, and analysis to support the continued success and stability of the business.

The day-to-day will involve:

  • Preparation of the month end process for the Central Funeral Plan division and ensuring the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts and management information.

  • Review designated accruals and prepayments monthly.

  • Ensuring insurance claims & Commission clawbacks are completed on time within the correct deadlines.

  • Preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules accurately and timely including variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and KPIs for the Executive Management team.

  • Ensuring reporting is clear, concise, and completed on time within designated SLA's guidelines.

  • Support the provide insightful Management Information and data analysis, to ensure all stakeholders clearly understand actual performance and that versus budget/forecast.

  • Upholding the necessary compliance as part of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) compliance., Please note that this role is subject to meeting regulatory requirements.   • Demonstratable knowledge of management accounts and experience working in a similar role with a good financial background.

  • Any financial qualification part OR full is needed (CIMA, ACCA or AAT).

  • Understanding of Oracle Financial (OR a similar ERP system) is essential.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel is needed with the use of PivotTables, VLokups, CountIFs, etc.

  • Excellent problem-solving ability, adaptability to changing priorities and ability to bring creative ideas to improve processes.

  • Demonstrable experience showing ability to build key relationships with both internal & external.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the capability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    Annual salary of up to £30,000pa.
