Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Management Accountant.

You'll be supporting the Finance Manager and Management Accountant in the preparation of management accounts for our Retail Franchise and Cobra Coffee (Starbucks) business areas.

This role is based at our head office in Portsmouth and offers hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days in the office. The office has great amenities with free onsite parking and a shuttle bus service.

What to expect

-Preparation of accounts to a draft P&L stage for review and assisting the Management Accountant with the preparation of journals, accruals and prepayments, and key variance analysis.

-Weekly reporting of performance to include variance analysis, benchmarking, budget and forecasts.

-Weekly cash statement processing for the Starbucks business.

-Raising weekly management fee invoices and periodic opex recharges to Franchisees.

-Preparation and submission of the promotional claims for Franchisees.

-Monthly reconciliation of relevant balance sheet accounts.

-Assist the creation of robust and timely annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in line with agreed timetable.

-Assist in year end exercise and the preparation of the annual reports and audit queries.

-Deputising for the Finance Manager and Management Accountant, to provide holiday and sickness cover.

AAT qualified / Finalist

-Working towards CIMA

-Experience of producing a P&L for review

-Management Accounts experience (desirable)

-High attention to detail

-Ability to manage own workload accordingly to enable deadlines to be met

-Proficient in the use of Excel supported by generally high levels of IT literacy

Salary £28,419 - £31,971 (DOE)
