Assists the estimating team in the creation of estimates, ensures the estimate is completed in line with procedures. Through the use of estimating tools, applies an appreciation of different contract and procurement types and utilises knowledge of construction methods. You'll be responsible for :

Responsible for the administrative and technical management of a construction project including the ability to prepare successful estimates.

Supports the analysis of material and subcontract to the estimating Lead on an estimate.

Supports the requirement for maintaining detailed benchmarking data.

Assists in administrative tasks for estimators and pre-construction team members.

Supports the team with the preparation of estimates.

Uses digital measurement tools for quantity take-off in a manner and level of detail consistent with the project goals.

Inputs estimate data into appropriate software.

Assists with feasibility studies.

Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Working knowledge of estimating software.

Ability to use IT systems including a good knowledge of Excel.

Strong numerical skills.

Experience of measurement software or PDF based measurement software.

Working knowledge of PowerPoint.

Good presentational skills.

Some knowledge of value engineering.

Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience.

Confident and level-headed when working to deadlines.

Good construction and market knowledge.

Good understanding of industry best practice.

You'll also have :

Working towards relevant degree (or equivalent).

Working towards chartered status.

A degree in quantity / surveying / cost management (or equivalent).
