Full Job Description

  • Assist with the preparation of the statutory financial statements, across the Deloitte LLP group, ensuring they are in-line with relevant accounting standards (IFRS & FRS 102) and Company Law;
  • Support the year end external audit process to ensure it runs efficiently and in line with agreed timetable;
  • Coach and mentor a member of our team, providing them with training support and assisting with goal-setting and performance management activities;
  • Draft technical accounting papers for complex transactions including acquisitions, disposals, restructuring, impairments etc.;
  • Assist with the documentation of our internal systems and processes and the development of our overall control environment;
  • Asist with the maintenance of the accounting policy manual for the Deloitte LLP group; and
  • Preparation of the bank covenant calculations.

    Have a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent);
  • Have a good understanding of IFRS, FRS 102 and Company Law;
  • Bring experience working in a statutory financial reporting or external audit environment for a large organisation;
  • Bring experience in the preparation and review of financial statements, an understanding of the audit process and working with complex accounting issues;
  • Bring some experience in managing financial professionals, including goal setting, providing feedback and developing talent;
  • Bring an understanding of risk management and control principles;
  • Be proactive and have a continuous process improvement mindset;
  • Have experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, and be able to prioritise tasks and manage deadlines effectively;
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in their work;
  • Have Experience of using SAP is preferred, but not essential; and
  • Have Experience of working in a professional services organisation is preferred, but not essential.

    Statutory financial reporting is a key function within our Enabling Functions Finance team. We are seeking an experienced and technical professional, with a statutory financial reporting or audit background, to join and help build our team. The UK Statutory Financial Reporting Team are primarily responsible for the delivery of the statutory financial statements of the Deloitte LLP group and overseeing the audits thereof. You will be a key member of the team, ensuring that all financial reports are accurate, timely and comply with applicable accounting standards (both IFRS and FRS 102).
