Assistant Manager - Wembley, London

  • Reporting To General Manager
  • Responsible For Supervisors and Sales Assistants
  • Purpose Maximise Sales in store through continuous excellence in service and visual standards and effective day-today management of team. Provide clear direction, coach, and support the Sales team.
  • Skills & Responsibilities Commerciality
  • Identify opportunities that will help the store grow & work closely with the General Manager.
  • Help identify opportunities and work closely with the General Manager to set KPI's.
  • Focus on sales performance and give constructive feedback on stock, staff & store.
  • Proactively manage KPIs, working closely with the General Manager on improvement plans.
  • Monitor competitor activity, and react / feedback accordingly.
  • Work with the Merchandise Manager to maximum stock availability through effective use of shop-floor replenishment and allocations and deliveries.
  • Work with the General Manager to ensure staff are scheduled in relation to store trading patterns, sales targets, footfall and internal/ external events.
  • Ensure promotions, sale launches and events are executed effectively.
  • Service & Visual
  • Ensure that all team members are fully conversant with the Collectif policies, current promotions, new collections and bestsellers etc.
  • Drive standards of excellence in visual merchandising, ensuring the store is maintained to the required standard and that the floor is always welcoming & a pleasant environment for all shoppers.
  • To promote, monitor and manage service levels within the store teams through observation and two-way feedback. (Support, encouragement, coaching and motivation)
  • Mentor new staff & teach best practice
  • Operations
  • To ensure that operational practices and procedures are consistently adhered to throughout the year.
  • Work with the General Manager to set trading safely standards in line with current Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Work with the General manager to ensure the rota is effective with day off booked correctly and ensuring appropriate cover is in place in line with store and business needs. Also support staff holiday requests and work with the General Manager to ensure the store operates smoothly.
  • To effectively implement best practice in the store office and stockroom, ensuring that all stock and admin is managed in line with company expectations.
  • Manage day to day security in accordance with company policies and procedures including employees, stock, cash and IT equipment.
  • People
  • Help develop and retain high calibre staff that reflect the Collectif Brand and promote excellent customer service.
  • To continually coach, train and develop employees to ensure they are able to carry out their roles effectively.
  • To act as a role model, consistently leading by example to ensure behaviour is emulated by others.
  • To provide inspirational leadership for your team, setting clear directions and expectations.
  • Encourage and recognise outstanding team performance, to increase team motivation and morale - Also reflect upwards through the management weekly meeting.
  • Support the General Manager to develop, implement and maintain a store succession plan to ensure continued success of the store and the wider business.
  • Work with the General Manager to ensure that all new starter paperwork and payroll information is submitted accurately and timely to the HR & Payroll Officer, and stored correctly in store.
  • Develop Skills & Support
  • Work with the general Manager to develop your skills to support the probationary reviews/ annual and bi-annual appraisals.
  • Understand and monitor / manage any absence and timekeeping issues.
  • Identify performance issues within the team and work with the General Manager to develop your HR skills to manage these issues.
  • Tackle disagreement constructively and professionally, work with the General Manager to resolve any conflict in a timely manner and develop an ability to understand and follow HR procedures.
