Full Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join us here at Phase Eight. As an Assistant Merchandiser you will collaborate with our Buying team to trade the range commercially to maximise profit and minimise markdown. Working at pace with a strong bias towards action and delivery is key in this role; the Assistant Merchandiser will focus on managing core line cards, forecasting sales and stock for the season. Key accountabilities for the role include;

  • Updating the category WSSIS to review sales figures and stock levels, advising the Merchandiser on commercial actions
  • Assisting the Merchandiser on planning the upcoming season, attending and presenting to Senior team, creating lessons learnt and building blocks for season ahead
  • Managing OTB for the department by using the WSSI, managing sales, intake, carry over, stock movement and markdown
  • Liaising with suppliers about deliveries and negotiating repeat prices, identifying commercial repeats in season
  • Supporting your Merchandiser with in-season analysis to ensure sales are optimised - managing any risk, re-forecasting categories and potentializing areas of the business
  • Reporting to the Merchandiser on the department and working in tandem with the wider business (across Buying and Merchandising, Supply Chain and the DC) we will need you to think strategically and proactively manage and challenge the allocation, assortment and availability of product.

    We are looking for a candidate who possesses exceptional Excel skills (VLOOKUP and Pivot tables) with the proven ability to analyse vast amounts of numerical data with success. We would need to you demonstrate previous experience managing and reforecasting WSSI's with a highly analytical and commercial mindset. Experience gained at Assistant Merchandiser level would be highly beneficial as would online exposure within a merchandising role although this is not mandatory. A growth mindset and a collaborative nature is key for success in this role.
