Full Job Description

The TV Social Edit Hub is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Junior Editor to join our team on a short contract till the end of February 2025, to help craft a range of supporting social content for BBC iPlayer programmes. The Edit Hub creates innovative, reactive content dialled in to young audiences on social platforms - clips, cutdowns and compilations for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X and Facebook. Main Responsibilities We are looking for a driven, creative individual who can bring a passion for editing and digital content focused on young audiences. Based with the Edit Hub at The Mailbox, Birmingham, you'll use your edit skills to reversion content from BBC Three and iPlayer shows to create impactful video content for social platforms, pointing young audiences to BBC iPlayer. Knowledge of social media trends and audio is definitely a bonus Working to briefs, with scope to input your own ideas, you'll be involved in editing clips, and applying appropriate branding and subtitles where needed. The role will also involve reformatting content to ensure it is native and appropriate for the social platforms it will appear on. All content must follow BBC brand and editorial policy guidelines too. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute original ideas for digital content and bespoke edits, working in collaboration with the wider TV Social team in Birmingham and London. You'll be editing on Adobe Premiere Pro and producing content for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X and Facebook.

  • Must be confident technically on Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Some knowledge of Photoshop / After Effects preferable
  • Experience of captioning and subtitling using Premiere, alongside good attention to detail
  • Experience of editing for different social platforms and formats - eg TikTok, YouTube, Instagram
  • Good communication and organisations skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Experience of working in a fast turnaround environment
  • Passion for social and young-skewing content

    Salary: £25,400- £34,400 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
