Full Job Description

To Map and review capacity for all non-medical students requiring a placement at MYTT. To Liaise with e-roster and department areas when request for extensions, Supplementary Assessed Placement (SAP) and non-assessed placements are required. To update departments of student placement cancellation or short notice allocations Plan placements in collaboration with the LCE responsible for TNA/RNDA portfolio. Including liaising with university placement teams, department/ ward area and eRoster team. Arrange placement audits and ensure these are kept up to date to comply with HEI placement regulations. Arrange student inductions as appropriate liaising with the university and students attending placement at MYTT. Communicate monthly student bitesize sessions with students on placement at MYTT. Arrange open days in collaboration with Bradford School of Nursing and LCE for pre-registration students. Complete unavailability reports for students on placement, communicating with departmental leads to
ensure students are visible on the eRoster. Ensure accurate record keeping of all student shifts on eRoster. Support cost collection by exporting monthly reports, analysing data and troubleshooting reports from e-roster and the student portal. Maintain an accurate assessor register. Maintain an accurate student incident report database. Maintain PARE information as required, including but not limited to supervisor and assessor information. Support students requiring placements from out of area, through issuing and ensuring correct completion of honorary contracts and recruitment forms. Support the process of IT systems and security access for students on placement when appropriate, liaising with the relevant departments. Support the updating of information for students, supervisors and assessors on the PDEU intranet page. Support the LCE for pre-registration students with planning of SSSA and PEAP training programmes, including communication and promotion of the programmes. To establish and
maintain good relationships with other departments, organisations and Higher Education Institutes (HEI). Use appropriate job knowledge, analysis and judgement to ensure that, during periods of team absence, any correspondence, telephone calls or other enquiries which require action are appropriately redirected to be dealt with in a timely manner. Support the administrative duties required to ensure the Healthcare Academy runs effectively. Including but not limited to, planning of programme, diary and calendar management, communication to participants and presenters and the issuing of invites, escalating when appropriate to the programme facilitator. Support the management and inputting of data to the educator trackers for registered and non-registered staff. Support when required the preparation of training resources for programmes related to the Student portfolio and Healthcare academy. Have a basic understanding of the main issues concerning student placements in order to make
appropriate judgements on the urgency and priority of actions and problems and where to direct these. Manage own workload effectively to enable deadlines to be met. This may involve liaison with other colleagues. Identify changes in working practices that are required to improve the service and to inform the Departmental manager of problems and changes. Impart knowledge and expertise to the rest of the PDEU team to support development of colleagues. The post holder is expected, where required to cover the duties of colleagues in posts of the same pay band or lower and within the range of the post holders knowledge and skills. Produce and distribute ad hoc reporting to support the LCE Provide a friendly and professional service, liaise with external bodies/agencies and internal staff of all levels by a variety of means i.e. face to face/phone/e-mail/letter/faxes daily. This may require the use of tact/ empathic or reassurance skills. In addition, persuasive
skills are often required where agreement or co-operation is required in trying to avoid Trust complaints. Assist the PDEU and clinical teams with administrative tasks, e.g. utilising IT systems or ensuring paper forms are completed and sent to relevant departments in a timely manner in line with service specific standard operating procedures. To ensure all duties are undertaken in line with standard operating procedures and to enable the achievement of Trust and Service specific Key Performance Indicators. To undertake diary management, arrange appointments, schedules, venues (equipment and facilities) and resolve any conflicting appointments as required. Support preparation of other documents, e.g. policies, procedures, presentations and reports.
