Assistant Practioner

Following a retendering process, the children's service is due to be transferred to the new provider on the 1st of April 2025. Given this post sits within the transferring service, in line with the legislative requirements, the successful candidate will be part of the TUPE transfer along with other colleagues.

An opportunity has arisen for an exciting role to support the Special School Nursing Team based at Clifton Hill School in Caterham in Surrey for pupils aged 11-19 years who have severe learning disability with additional health needs. Our Nursing Service supports children and young people to be able to safely attend school irrespective of their health needs. We ask that the ideal candidate has experience of working with children with special needs and a passion to make a difference in helping to achieve better health outcomes.

Continence assessments and re-assessments

Promoting independence around toileting for children with learning disability and additional health needs

Supporting registered nurse in medical emergencies

Supporting registered nurses when training educational staff in nursing procedures including gastrostomy and seizure management

Medication administration

Supporting registered nurses with nurse led clinics

Supporting running of outside agencies clinics including immunisations, eye clinics, dental clinics

Participation in clinical and safeguarding supervision

Participation in audit
