Full Job Description

The Newcastle Learning Disability Team are looking to recruit a permanent Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to work with the Newcastle Paediatric Learning Disability Physiotherapy Team. The post will be to support the Physiotherapists who work within the Local Authority Special Schools in Newcastle.
The Newcastle Learning Disability Team is a multi-disciplinary team who work with adults and children who have a learning disability and live in the community of Newcastle upon Tyne., The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual who has experience in working with children and young adults with a learning disability. The role is to support Physiotherapists in the service delivery through direct clinical contact, such as assessment and delivery of therapy programmes as well as indirect work, including, housekeeping duties, departmental responsibilities, and administrative work to support the team. Experience in working with families/carers and a multi-agency team is essential.

Applicants must have experience of supporting allied health professionals and be flexible to work in various environments, including schools, clinics, hydrotherapy pool and patient's homes.
