Full Job Description

Quite possibly the greatest opportunity of your career is awaiting you; the chance to design, shape and lead innovative and creative policy and practice in an all-through academy as a key senior leader. The successful candidate will join a team of highly motivated and talented senior colleagues at a leadership level and across the rest of the academy. This role has become available due to the natural growth of the school. This is an exciting time to be joining our academy as we continue to build on the success of the last 6 years. Our all-through school opened in a superb new building in September 2018 and we have grown year on year, with the school now operating from Y7 to Y13. In addition to the secondary and 6th form phases, we also have two primary phases set across two sites, King's Academy Binfield (KAB) and King's Academy Oakwood (KAO). Applicants will be joining an academy that:

  • Seeks opportunities to work collaboratively across the faculty through dedicated curriculum time which is built into timetabled hours for staff each week
  • Is passionate about subject specific CPD
  • Is motivated to look for opportunities to improve the well-being and workload of its staff
  • Understands the importance of curriculum design and delivery
  • Is reflective and focused on improving teaching and learning at all levels
  • The successful candidate will have the knowledge and skills to be able to lead an area of strategic responsibility across the whole age range in both academies; further developing outstanding whole school practice. They will work with all staff, leading the 'whatever it takes' ethos to enable every young person at KAB and KAO to thrive. They will have expertise in innovative and impactful practice, a passion for education and building great relationships with students, staff and parents. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to and evidence of success in the development of the wider aspects of school life. Applicants should be excellent classroom teachers in their own right; as well as being able to work as part of a team, get stuck in and inspire all staff and students to excel. Ideally the candidate will have a specialism in teaching maths. As a rapidly growing all-through academy, this is a rare and exciting opportunity for a skillful leader who can bring creativity, innovation and dynamism. Potential is just as important as experience. King's Academy Binfield and King's Academy Oakwood are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check. Application Process Visits to us are warmly welcomed; to arrange one or for any further information or an informal chat please do contact Amber Walker, HR Coordinator at amber.walker@kingsacademies.uk. Completed application forms should be submitted to Amber Walker at the email address above by 9am on Thursday 24th October 2024. Interviews will be Friday 25th October 2025.
