Full Job Description

Build your expertise as an events assistant producer with hands-on training in scripting, stakeholder management, and live gallery production. BBC Events Productions , is an award-winning unit with decades of unique experience in creating and broadcasting large scale, national and international events which are rich in ambition, emotion, and creativity. They are responsible for producing and broadcasting some of the country's biggest ceremonial events such as The Funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II, The Coronation of King Charles III, D-Day 80, Trooping the Colour, and Remembrance Sunday : The Cenotaph among many others., The department currently has an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Producer to join their team for six months to be trained up in the events production space. Throughout their contract, the successful candidate will gain experience working across a range of Events programming. On the job training will be provided across all the productions worked on to ensure you have an excellent knowledge of putting together live event broadcasts, including scripting, dealing with key stakeholders, commentary research, VT production and working on a live broadcast. The trainee will also gain an insight into live gallery producing to enable them to confidently take the step up to producer in future. This is the ideal opportunity for an experienced Assistant Producer who is keen to work in live production, but hasn't had the right opportunities presented to them.   • A full understanding of end-to-end ceremonial events production.
  • Expertise in bringing some of the biggest national historical moments to life.
  • A full insight into how the BBC Events team operates.
  • Live production skills and experience, including working with commentators and in a live gallery.
  • Scripting, VT production, and working with archive.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • What we're looking for
  • An established Assistant Producer with at least 2 year's experience at this level.
  • Prior experience in writing detailed research briefs and biographies.
  • Prior experience of working with on-screen talent.
  • Prior experience of casting and dealing with sensitive content matter and contributors.
  • The ability to work independently and pro-actively as part of a small team.
  • Creative and bursting with engaging ideas.
  • A person who can thrive in a live, fast-paced environment where things can change quickly. The need to be flexible in your work approach and comfortable in busy environments is essential.
