Full Job Description

To assist established Project Managers in delivering AVL contracts from handover to final acceptance. This is a full time, permanent position based predominately at AVL's Head-Office in Hartlebury, Worcestershire. Some UK travelling will be required.

Main Duties, Operational Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To support the Project Manager on AVL contracts so that they are completed within time, specification and budget.

  • Sole responsibility for selected AVL contracts to support the department and individual development

  • Helping to ensure that key objectives are achieved.

  • Assist the project team with planning and delivery of ongoing projects.

  • To assist in the reporting of the contracts as required by the AVL project reporting processes and tools.

  • To maintain harmonious relationships with customers, sub-contractors and AVL staff and to develop good working relationships.

  • To attend, contribute to, and when required call such meetings as are required to effectively manage the contracts as required by the Project Manager.

  • To provide feedback to the project manager on status and support areas of the business where necessary to keep project milestones on-track.

  • To provide a flexible approach to meet the reasonable business goals of AVL.

  • To support activities at customer facilities when required during the course of the project.

  • Supporting the management of risk and opportunities

  • Provide ad hoc Senior Project team assistance tasks including data collation and assessment, scanning and filing.

    HND or higher qualification is preferred.


  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in an equivalent environment.

    A strong communicator with positive attitude and a team player.

    Self motivated and able to drive own tasks

    Ability to embrace and encourage change.

    Excellent attention to detail.

    Quality and process oriented.

    Able to multi task and prioritise.

    Work at AVL-UK and at customer's locations, full driving license required

    Good inter-personal skills with all levels of customer's and AVL staff.

    Good quality report writing skills.

    Good general computer skills e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

    Knowledge of project planning tools an advantage but not essential.

    You will have the opportunity to develop into a Project Manager role through AVL's structured training program and gain the experience necessary to become an accredited Project Management professional.
