Full Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Project Manager is to successfully manage the RD and Nuclear Services Contracts and ensure that the engineering is delivered safely to cost, schedule and quality requirements. Other responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager include;
- Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the Project strategies within the delivery of the contract
- Accountable for the delivery of the RD & Nuclear Services Task Order
- Proactively drive the delivery of a key scope area of the contract and associated activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements
- Proactively monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget, funding and provide key stakeholders with associated reports
- Within the scope area, anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contract. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised and escalate any issues
- Proactively managing the interface with the Responsible Designer and Nuclear Services contract management team and Technical teams in HPC
Previous experience in Project Management or Project Engineering on large or complex engineering or construction projects - Knowledge of and experience in working with NEC contracts preferred
- Degree or equivalent (in relevant science or engineering subject preferable)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Coordination skills and leadership
- Understanding of quality requirements
- Decision making and escalation ability for resolution of issues
- Budget and commercial awareness
- Ability to build strong working relationships with and effectively manage internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements
- Knowledge of power station design is desirable (EPR or NPP)
