The South Staffordshire Lotus Service - Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS) welcomes applications for a full time Band 4 Assistant Psychologist working on a 7-month fixed term ( x 2 posts available).
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Psychology Graduate to join our psychologically informed service supporting people who have experienced perinatal loss, Tokophobia or trauma during their maternity journey.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic individual who is confident working independently and who can show initiative. You will be joining a well-established multi-disciplinary team to deliver an excellent standard of care to people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties because of their maternity journey.
The Lotus Service sits within the MPFT Perinatal Mental Health Service and we have a very supportive psychology team. This includes a growing Assistant Psychologist peer supervision group, the opportunity to shadow psychologists, continued professional development and service development sessions as well as access to excellent training.
The Lotus Service provides assessment and treatment to patients who are registered with a South Staffordshire GP surgery. Our team mainly work with Queen's Hospital Burton and Royal Stoke University Hospital, but we also liaise with other hospitals to support patients wherever they choose to access their maternity care., + To undertake protocol based psychological assessments of service users applying psychological, including neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, family members and others involved in the service user's care.
+ To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user's problems, including simple procedures and techniques related to psychology therapies.
+ To assist in the co-ordination and running of therapeutic groups.
+ To communicate and liaise with staff from other disciplines.
+ To assist in the delivery of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service.
+ To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
+ To review case files, depositions etc. where appropriate, analysing that information, providing summaries and reports under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.
+ To prepare reports on clinical interventions with individuals and groups, the results of psychometric assessments, case note reviews and research/audit projects. Such reports may be written for, or read by, the service user, psychologists, members of the multi-disciplinary team, or staff from external agencies.
