Full Job Description

Please See Job Description and Person Specification for full details.

The post holder will join a small, experienced team dedicated to working with children and families who are considered to be on the edge of care. They will engage with individuals from various cultural backgrounds and age groups, utilising interpreters as necessary, and must be deeply committed to promoting equal opportunities.

The role involves working directly with families and young people who often face challenges in trusting health services. To effectively support these individuals, the post holder will use an assertive outreach approach, incorporating evidence-based interventions where appropriate. Evening work will occasionally be required to accommodate the needs of the assertive outreach model.

In addition to these responsibilities, the post holder will be responsible for accurate record-keeping and, under the supervision of the AMASS CAMHS clinician, will take the lead in implementing the team's service evaluation programme including data gathering and analytics.

We seek a resilient, flexible, and optimistic worker who can maintain hope for the families they support.

We are looking for an innovative, resilient and experienced practitioner who will work independently according to agreed plans developed with the team CAMHS Clinician and/or Social Care manager. The applicant will work jointly with their multi-agency and multi-disciplinary colleagues in a flexible, organised and responsive way within a changing environment. We offer a stimulating and highly supportive working environment.

Islington Children's Social Care are recruiting an Assistant Psychologist to the Adolescent Multi-Agency Specialist Service (AMASS).

The post holder will be employed by Whittington Health within the Children in Need Provider Services.

AMASS provides specialist, intensive outreach services to young people (10-17 years) and their families where there is high risk of the young person becoming looked after.

AMASS has developed over the last 16 years as a highly regarded and successful multi-agency intervention service with staff from Social Care, Health and Education, located within Islington social services. Individuals referred to AMASS present with a range of social and mental health needs and can find help challenging to access. The families AMASS work with often present with complex and interacting problems and a mentalisation-based approach underpins the teams' practice., Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
