Full Time Assistant Psychologist Starting Salary: £26,500 Cygnet Hospital Bury Dunes Cygnet Healthcare is seeking to recruit a full time, experienced and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join Dunes Hospital at Cygnet Bury in Greater Manchester. This role will be working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Cygnet Hospital Bury Dunes providesa wide range of inpatientmental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services. We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our psychology team within the adult male PICU and Acute service The PICU and Acute service within Dunes Hospital at Cygnet Bury provides care for adult males across 2 wards: Southampton ward a 12 bedded Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit for adult male service users. The White House an 18 bed acute ward for adult male service users. Job Role The role of the Assistant Psychologist will be to support and enhance the psychological care of clients within Dunes hospital by assisting the Qualified

Psychologists in the delivery and evaluation of effective services that meet Cygnets Healthcare objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations. To thereby help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve mental health and wellbeing of clients. The role involves the administration, scoring and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation and supervised individual and group interventions. Clinical supervision will be provided as an important part of personal and professional development, and additional training will be supported. Candidate Profile You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised. You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries, clinical risk and the importance of evidence-based interventions. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all youll be someone
with a genuine desire to help others. We are looking for someone with a good degree in Psychology, further postgraduate training in relevant area of applied psychology and mental health is desirable. Previous experience of working within in-patient mental health services and settings is essential. At least 6 months previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist and delivering 1:1 therapeutic work and group therapy sessions is desirable.
