Full Job Description

The Community rehabilitation team supports service-users who have previously required an admission to a psychiatric inpatient bed, at the point they are moving on from hospital back into the community either in their own homes or supported services. Many service-users we work with have diagnoses such as psychosis, bi-polar, severe depression/ anxiety as well as histories of trauma.

Our team works to promote mental health recovery and sustained improvements in quality of life. The post involves direct assessment, formulation and intervention work with service-users, joint working with the qualified psychologist and MDT colleagues as well as indirect working with families and staff teams. You may also be involved in audit, service development and clinical governance projects. The service has close links with the clinical psychology doctorate course at Leeds and regularly take trainees on placement.

You will be supervised by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the team, and our Trust also has a range of continuing professional development opportunities from one day workshops to fully accredited courses.

The team base is in Honley in Huddersfield, but the post covers the Kirklees area. As this is a community-based post it is a requirement to drive and have access to a car for work in this post. Our Trust encourages flexible working - the post is Monday to Friday but there would be some flexibility for the successful candidate if wished for to work earlier or later than a 9 to 5 pattern, including meeting service need.
