Assistant Psychologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist with both a strong interest, and demonstrable experience of working with young people with mental health difficulties and/or challenges with emotional regulation, to join West London CAMHS Service. We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Psychologist in a new tri-borough Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) service. We are seeking to employ candidates with a real interest and commitment to working with young people and their families with mental health difficulties. You will support the DBT team in key tasks associated with this service in addition to supporting the team in generic tasks related to the delivery of high quality patient care. You will attend training in Intensive DBT in November 2024 with the DBT team. You will then assist with the preparation and delivery of DBT skills groups. The Assistant Psychologist may also be required to contact some service users between skills sessions to support their learning of the
skills. An additional key task will be administering, collecting and analysing outcome data collected from service users., In summary the Assistant Psychologist will support and enhance the professional psychological care of Young People and their carers by:

Supporting the DBT team with the successful preparation and delivery of multi-family DBT skills groups.

• Contributing, where service needs dictate, to direct psychological assessment under the supervision and direction of a qualified clinical psychologist of young people referred to the service.


• Where service needs indicate, supporting and contributing, at a developmentally appropriate level, a range of psychological interventions to the young person and their family such as individual therapy (using DBT model)



• Working within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.


• Assisting in clinically related administration, collection and analysis of outcome data, QI, audit and service evaluation.
